I have had a 360 degree turn around in certain trains of thought and beliefs that I have held on to for years regarding diet. I am putting into practice the complete opposite of what I have always believed. I am counting calories, exercising to the point of increased heart rate, puffing, sweating, and I now believe that it is entirely possible to lose weight quickly and keep it off. There are no statistics to prove that losing weight slowly has better long term benefits. Infact, when you lose weight quickly there is evidence that the results will encourage better long term results. I have been told for the past few months that even though I have not lost weight I have gained muscle.............RUBBISH! you can't build muscle until the fat comes off. You can't spot lose weight either! I can allow myself one cheat meal per week but that is it.........for now!
I am currently weighing in at 90.1kg which is down by 2.8 kg in two weeks. I can see that by Monday I will be in at under 90 to my first goal of 89.9!
Start weight 93kg
First goal.......................89.9kg to take me under 90kg..............reached date
Second goal...................84kg to take me back to my pre pregnant weight...........reached date
third goal.....................79.9kg to take me under 80kg...............reached date
Fourth goal.................74kg to take me to the lowest weight I have been in past ten years...........................reached date
Fifth goal....................69.9kg to take me under 70kg........reached date
Sixth goal....................65 kg to take me to the weight I felt comfortable at for a number of years
reached date..........
seventh goal..............60kg to take me to a weight where I will decide where to go......If I have gained muscle and look firm and toned I might be comfortable here. If I feel I need to go on then I will make that decision then.........reached date...........

You go girl!!!! I didn't know quite how to say it on W2W...but i didn't agree that slowly does it...keep going and you'll get there. Coz it's not true. If you work hard enough at it...if you burn more claories than you consume then it has to come off! It just does! If not, then something is wrong- wrong foods, at the wrong times, in the wrong combinations or not burning enough off.
Why are we afraid to work bl**dy hard? Why do we go soft on ourselves?
I am so proud of you- but not in a condescending way...rather in a way that a friend sees another friend struggle with things in life, yet still keeps putitng one foot in front of the other just to survive...and every now and then jumps up to rise above it all.
Love ya matey!

Yes Susan, that book by Michelle Bridges has really spoken to me in a whole new light. Everything she says is completely opposite to how I used to feel! It is a cowards option NOT TO WEIGH EACH WEEK! the scales are an accurate way to see weight loss and if I continue telling myself otherwise I am deceiving myself. If you work hard enough, eat less then the weight WILL come off!! Please do tell everyone that slow and steady is not the way!! I preached it for years because I had read it more than once and believed it............but it didn't work!!! Every day I am getting on the scales and the weight is literally falling off. I feel fantastic and inspired to run the mile.

Everything she says is similar to Bill Phillips- different but a similar philosophy...what you put in is what you'll get out of it. Put in a half baked effort and you'll reap the fruit. Put in a huge effort and you will also reap the fruit. You choose!
It's actually quite empowering...if one chooses to be empowered. KWIM? if you want to still use excuses then you will...it will be a denial thing, which is self deprecating.
Body for Life and that sort of thing doesn't do a lot of calorie counting rather portions, but they're also assuming that one is eating sensibly within those portions. Maybe that's where some of us get it wrong! LOL
Now we're not gonna see the weight loss of TBL contestants but that's not a weekly weigh in anyway...
You go girl- know I am standing with you- physically AND emotionally, cheering you on.
How have you been going with the raw food eating this week?

The raw food eating is good but the only thing with it is you need to be prepared ahead of time! uncooking something in the dehydrator can take hours.......unlike the oven!! My appetite is really down but my energy levels are up.
Thanks for standing with me!
